Answers
1)  Q What should I do as far as language arts if my child is absent?
A
It is the student's responsibility to make up the missed work. Daily classroom assignments are posted online and available in a white binder in the classroom. Handouts are available in a file next to the binder. Some handouts are available in the document manager on my website.
2)  Q Do you accept late assignments?
A
Projects, papers and homework will be accepted up to one week late. Assignments one day late will be worth 85% of the points earned; assignments two days late will be worth 70% of the points earned; assignments three or more days late will be worth 55% of the points earned.
• I will not accept late work during the last week of any marking period.
• Individual presentations may be made up; however, a group presentation may not. Your group will go on without you. An appropriate make-up assignment will be determined by me in these cases if there was a valid and unavoidable reason for your absence
3)  Q Can you inform me when my child fails to turn in an individual assignment or falls behind?
A
Because of the number of students, the volume of papers, and the time devoted to each paper, I cannot always contact you with the information; however, WHENEVER you want to know about your child's progress, you may email me or phone, and I will respond as soon as possible. Your child's current progress is always available online as well.
4)  Q Do you offer extra credit in your classes?
A
Any extra credit earned will be added only if all assignments are turned in.
5)  Q What is your grading policy?
A
My grades are based on a percentage of total points.
6)  Q What is the best way to reach you?
A
Email, phone or scheduled in-person conference--all work well for me. I prefer email or in-person conferences because of voice mail and the frequent occurence of "phone tag."
