Clarkston High School's Military History Club was founded during the 1999/2000 school year.
The tradition of MHC has been student driven presentations, guest speakers, and an occasional movie night.
Club members are encouraged (but not required) to research and present on any historical topic of interest.
We have added annual competitions to our yearly calendar which include our spring catapult and our winter armor building competitions. At the end of the 2009 school year we teamed up with Mr. Olsen and forged foam battle weapons and tried our military skills during a foam Dagohir battle. In 2010 we had the month of October and May devoted to Dagorhir foam-smithing, tactics, and battle, which we intend to repeat this 2010/2011 school year.
Past guest speakers have include a navalman on the 1st nuclear sub, a real "Band of Brother", a B-52 pilot, and Gulf War veterans.
Movie nights are intended to analyze the historical accuracy of a military film.
