Half day Kindergarten will still be an option. It will be housed at the Early Childhood Center. Transportation will not be provided for half day students; parents will be responsible for getting their child to and from the Early Childhood Center. Young Fives will also be offered at the Early Childhood Center; transportation will not be provided. To attend Kindergarten for the 2010-2011 school year, your child's birthdate must be on or before December 1, 2005. To register, contact Pine Knob Elementary at (248) 623-3900. Registration packets can be picked up in the Pine Knob Elementary office. PKE's Kindergarten Orientation is on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Detailed Orientation information packets will be sent home prior to Kindergarten Orientation. Sign-Up to Receive E-BLASTS In an effort to conserve our financial and paper resources, we will begin sending the monthly Pine Knob Elementary Tiger Tales via E-BLAST starting with the January issue. E-BLAST is linked to the Clarkston Community Calendar. If you are already signed up to receive E-BLAST's of upcoming school events and reminders, you will automatically receive Tiger Tales as well. For those of you not signed up to receive E-BLAST's, here's how:

PKE is Going GREEN! Oakland County is partnering with Oakland Schools to promote the Michigan Green Schools program and PKE is going to participate! To be designated as a Michigan Green School, participants must meet 10 energy savings and environmental activities such as recycling paper, adopting an endangered species and recyling printer cartridges. One of the activities PKE has chosen is to help preserve our rain forest. Simply click on the Rainforest Link below. It's dedicated to the preservation of rainforests around the world. Your daily click funds the purchase of rainforest land by The Nature Conservacy, The Rainforest Conservation Fund, The World Parks Endowment, and Rainforest2Reef. ![]() PKE Team RoboTranspo In a recent robotics competition, PKE Team RoboTranspo tied for 8th place. Facing 33 teams, most of whom were experienced 6th-8th grade teams, PKE did very well. The team was asked to describe what "Gracious Professionalism" meant to them. The Judge said that the team gave the best description he had ever heard in all of his years of judging. Team RoboTranspo also won a trophy for "Best Quality Robot Design." Way to go!!!! |
