
| Add another trophy to the trophy case. The Clarkston Wolves won the regional championship for the third time in school history, with a 38-14 victory over Macomb Dakota. With a solid overall game, the Wolves will be facing the Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans, with a trip to Ford Field on the line. Clarkston continued their dominating play on defense, allowing 14 total points, and more importantly, pitching a shutout in the second half, as the game was still on the line at 17-14 at halftime. The Wolves offense came out strong again, scoring on their first drive of the game, an 80 yard march. Tyler Scarlett was a catalyst the entire night, capping of a 99 yard drive with a long run for a TD, and then throwing a long pass that eventually saw the Wolves have first and goal from the one and punch it in the next play to seal the win. The semi-final game will be heald at Troy Athens High School next Saturday at 7:00. |
| Champions again. With a 21-3 vicotry over the Romeo Bulldogs, the Clarkston Wolves added a district championship to their OAA Red Championship. Behind a strong first quarter by Tyler Scarlett and the Wolves offense, and a dominating defense led by Dustin Gamble, the Wolves looked strong the entire game. The Wolves were able to avenge a road playoff loss at the hands of Romeo last year, and now will host a Regional Championship game against Macomb Dakota. The game will be Friday night at 6:55. |
| It's not easy beating a team twice in one season. It's even harder doing it in back to back weeks. It becomes even more difficult when it is your top rival. The Clarkston Wolves Varsity was able to do just that, defeating the Lake Orion Dragons 17-7 in the first round of the MHSSA Playoffs. In not so ideal weather conditions, and battling turnovers, the Wolves were able to overcome a 7-3 halftime deficit. The big play came in the 4th quarter on 4th down when Tyler Scarlett found Dakota Bender in the endzone for a 31 yard score. |
| Playing flawless football, the Clarkston Wolves were able to defeat the Lake Orion Dragons, and claim the OAA Red title. The Wolves jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, thanks to a strong running game and a stingy defense. |
| Using a 35-0 lead at half time, the Wolves cruised to a 35-6 victory over the Oak Park Knights. The defense was strong again, and to date, has allowed only allowed 73 points, which is an average of 10.4 points per game. The offense is starting to get on track again as well, and has now scored 217 points on the year, which is an average of 31 points per game. |
| The Clarkston Wolves are once again in the playoffs. With a 55-7 win over Royal Oak, the Wolves are now 6-0, and have automatically qualified for the MHSAA playoffs. |
| The Clarkston Wolves are now 5-0 on the season as they traveled to Southfield-Lathrup and came away with a 38-14 victory. The 5:30 start should very little effect on the Wolves as the scored on their first drive of the game on route to a 14-0 lead. The Chargers then scored to cut the gap to 14-7 before the Wolves added another touchdown before the half, and lead 21-7 going into the second half. That's when Dakota Bender broke the game wide open, returning the opening kick-off of the second half for a touchdown, making the score 28-7. The Wolves tacked on another touchdown and a Brian Benway field goal, his sixth of the season, before Lathrup scored once again, for the final tally. The Wolves are 4-0 in the OAA Red, and have gone through their early season road test unscathed. |
| The Wolves picked up another road win, their third of the season, as they traveled to West Bloomfield and defeated the host Lakers 17-7. The Wolves jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, which was followed by a Justin Baetz blocked punt which lead to a second score and made it a 14-0 lead for the Wolves. However, on the ensuing kickoff, West Bloomfield returned it for a score and closed the gap to 14-7 heading into the half. Both offenses struggled in the second half, as the Wolves were only able to add a field goal by Brian Benway late in the third quarter. The Wolves defense pitched a shutout in the second half, which is a continuation of their stellar play throught the season. The Wolves are now 4-0 on the season, and 3-0 in the OAA Red division. |
| In what has become the norm in Clarkston and Troy football games, Friday nights home opener was full of excitement. After taking a 10-0 lead into the half, the Wolves were shell shocked in the third quarter, as Troy scored 21 unanswered points. Trailing by 11 with only 6 minutes left in the game, the Clarkston offense went to work, driving for a touchdown and getting a two point conversion to pull within three. Following a Troy turnover, the Wolves drove for the go ahead score with a little over three minutes left. Troy drove the ball into Clarkston territory, but the defense once again came up big on fourth down, stoping the Colts short on 4th & 1. The Wolves could not run out the clock, so Troy got once last chance. Driving the ball 65 yards to the Clarkston fifteen, the Colts comeback fell short as they threw an interception in the endzone with eight seconds left. The Wolves ran out the clock and moved to 3-0 on the season. |
| The Clarkston Wolves travelled to Troy Athens on Friday, and came away with a 41-15 vicotry. With the win, the Wolves are 2-0. After scoring only two fields goals last week, the offense got it going, finding the endzone six times. Tyler Scarlett lead the way for the offense from his quarterback position. Defensively, the Wolves were again stout. The defense surrendered only 13 points, with two points coming on a safety for Troy Athens. |
| Despite a hard rain and cool tempatures, the Varsity Wolves prevailed, defeating Rochester Adams 6-3. Brian Benway kicked a 30 and 36 yard field goal to provide enough offense, as the defense made crucial stop after crucial stop. No stop was more important though, than the one made late in the fourth quarter. On 4th and 1, Adams called a QB keeper. However, the Wolves defense prevailed again, stopping Adams inches short, securring the lead and the win. |
